Why Did I Miss This?!?!

Dulaang Laboratoryo 2010 presents “They're Playing Our Song,” a romantic musical comedy by Neil Simon with music by Marvin Hamlisch and Lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager.

The production, under the direction of Meynard Peñalosa, runs March 5-March 7 at U.P. Diliman, Quezon City.

“They're Playing Our Song” is loosely based on Marvin Hamlish’s young adulthood. Set in bustling New York City, Vernon Gersch, a neurotic yet highly successful composer, meets and falls in love with Sonia Walsk, a young, unpredictable, but talented lyricist.

As their working relationship unfolds, the audience experiences the hilarious yet touching story of how their love for each other develops, told through the classic repartee, wit and humor of Neil Simon.

Jeremy Aguado and Micaela Pineda take on the roles of Vernon Gersch and Sonia Walsk, respectively.

The ensemble includes Shanda Lim-Uy, Kristianne Valencia, Faith Caronan, Nieves Reyes, Aljury Panglinan, Jules dela Paz, Jihad Mariano, Fil Uy.

Set design by Amor Guanlao, Lighting design by Meliton Roxas, choreography by April Belarmino with additional choreography by Tatui Padilla and Meynard Peñalosa, musical direction by Cholo Gino, additional musical arrangement and overall direction by Meynard Peñalosa.

Showdates are March 5, 8 p.m. (Friday), March 6, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. (Saturday), and March 7, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. (Sunday).

Another statue-less Oscar night for Meryl Streep. Please, AMPAS. Give her an Oscar already!

At least, I'm confident that she will definitely get nominated again. Sandra Bullock? Sheesh. That was just a pity win. Look what happened to Gwyneth Paltrow and Halle Berry. How many nominations after their win? Z-E-R-O!

Oh, BTW.

Kathryn Bigelow won! Dr. Dery will be so proud. :)
