Enlightened: A Holy Week Film Festival

I don't know about you but my family always watches a series of religious films during Holy Week. The Ten Commandments, Jesus Christ Superstar, random biblical documentaries about how Jerusalem was built or whatever. These have always been staples. So for this year, I will be organizing a movie marathon in another room! Presenting the line-up for Enlightened: A Holy Week Film Festival! Of course, you can also watch these at home; all of these movies are available, if you know where and how. So yay! Try watching one this Holy Week... for a change. :)))

For the documentaries:

Hell House

A haunted house by a fundamentalist Christian church. Instead of monsters, they feature sins and show what happens to sinners in Hell. Fun fun fun fun!

Jesus Camp

A summer camp by a Baptist church. Regarded by some as one of the scariest and disturbing documentaries ever. Oooh.

Religulous

An in-depth look about the current state of world religions. Featuring Bill Maher! *wink*

And the feature films:

The Invention of Lying

Starring and written by Ricky Gervais! In a world where lying is non-existent, what's gonna happen?

Dogma

This film was opposed by the Catholic League so you know this is good!

Saved!

A teen comedy slash religious satire! And Mandy Moore's in it!

Monty Python's Life of Brian

One of the funniest movies ever. And I mean EVER! A man born beside Jesus' stable is mistaken as the Messiah.
