Best of the Best Pictures

Every year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents a golden statue to the film it feels represents cinema's best from the previous year. Despite all the parties and prestige surrounding the man affectionately known as Oscar, like most of us, he isn't perfect. And without fail every year, the Academy's selections take the place of office gossip, Internet status updates, and conversations with strangers in public places. And every year, we take a look back at the Best Picture winners of Oscars past, as sorted by the strict and rigorous standards of Tomatometer science.

From the undisputed classics (Casablanca, The Godfather) to the dubious selections (The Broadway Melody), we’ve ranked all of the Best Picture winners from Wings to The Hurt Locker. How many have you seen? Where do your favorites rank? And where does The Hurt Locker land? Check out RT’s Best of the Best Pictures to find out!

Guess what's number one.

Another statue-less Oscar night for Meryl Streep. Please, AMPAS. Give her an Oscar already!

At least, I'm confident that she will definitely get nominated again. Sandra Bullock? Sheesh. That was just a pity win. Look what happened to Gwyneth Paltrow and Halle Berry. How many nominations after their win? Z-E-R-O!

Oh, BTW.

Kathryn Bigelow won! Dr. Dery will be so proud. :)
